Angelina Sumiga used to work in finance in the UK. Now retired, she lives in a newly built house in Tanza, Cavite. When she and her husband planned their retirement in the Philippines, solar power was always part of the plan: a home they will live in for a long time, powered by the country's sunny weather.
Hybrid, with two batteries

The first bill
The house runs a lot: a centralized hot water system, washing machines, a dryer, two aircons on 24/7, an oven and the swimming pool filtration. Angelina compared their bill with a former student whose house is very comparable. That home paid almost ₱40,000. Theirs averages around ₱10,000 a month.
